Today, I want to share with you the 5 things to do before posting on Instagram.
Instagram is one of my favorite social media. Therefore, I spend a lot of time finding the right picture to post and the perfect caption to write.
However, this is not IT! There are steps you need to follow before posting on Instagram.
So, here are the 5 things to do before posting on Instagram.
CHOOSE WHAT TO POST
Before posting anything, you need to make sure what you are going to share with your audience.
My secret is to select a couple of different pictures and add them to the app Preview.
Once the photos are in the app, I rearrange them to see what photos will look better beside each other.
EDITING TIME
It’s now time to make a difference.
Think of what you are going to do with the content you want to share.
You can add your Lightroom mobile presets and be done. Or, you can go a little bit deeper into editing.
Change the background of a picture. Add some text to your image.
Be creative and look at how it will look on your Instagram Feed.
WRITE AN ENGAGING CAPTION
This part is very important. One of the 5 things to do before posting on Instagram is writing an engaging caption.
So, you are probably wondering! What is an engaging caption? And how do I write one?
Well, first you need to write a caption that will match with the post you are sharing.
Then, try to talk about yourself to your audience.
Share something personal, make them want to interact with what you shared.
You can ask your audience to answer a question (It’s best to write it at the beginning of your caption).
This is what an engaging caption is! Basically, you want your followers to interact with your post. You want your audience to like, comment and share your posts.
HASHTAG RESEARCH
Yes, it sounds like a pain! But you need to make some hashtags research before posting on Instagram.
If you are trying to increase your reach and traffic on your Instagram profile, you will need to have a strong hashtag strategy.
So, go on the search section into Instagram and look for hashtags that are going to be relevant to the picture you are going to share.
Find between 15 to 20 relevant hashtags, and make sure that you are not only adding “popular” hashtags.
TAG ACCOUNTS AND ADD A LOCATION
Do not forget those steps!
Having a good hashtag strategy is not the only way to reach more people.
Look at what you are posting. If it’s a picture of you, look at what you are wearing.
Are there any brands you can tag?
Any other account, that will be interesting in sharing your content?
Also, did you know that some people are looking for new accounts to follow using “Location”?
Therefore, you cannot leave this part blank.
You must add a location to every single one of your Instagram posts.
And just like that, you have your checklist!
