You stopped here because you want to know how to brainstorm your personal brand.

So, you might be serious about building your brand identity and hiring a brand designer to make your personal brand dream to life.

To make sure your brand designer or yourself, build a personal brand that matches your beliefs, your message, and yourself as a whole, you will need to brainstorm.

Now, when I say brainstorm, I mean big, huge, hard work on what is your desire about this personal brand.

This is going to represent YOU! Promote You and be a part of YOU.

So, let’s dive right into how to brainstorm your personal brand.

1 – COLOR PSYCHOLOGY

So, you are going to choose between 4 to 6 colors that will represent your brand.

Those colors are going to be used in everything you are going to create and share online.

So, it will be placed in your logo, banners, graphics, social media posts, etc.

Therefore, you need to make sure you are understating the color of your brand.

You need to look online at what is the meaning of the colors you are about to choose.

If it matches what you want to “show off” when people look at your brand, this is JACKPOT!

2 – MOOD BOARD

If you follow me on Instagram @justiinelamer, you will already know that mood boards are my favorites!

So, like a vision board, a mood board will help you visualize the vibe you’re going for.

But instead of setting goals for your life, you are setting up “a style, mood, vibe” to people that are going to look at your brand.

So, build your mood board with pictures, styles, textures, elements, and everything that you would like to incorporate into your personal brand.

3 – FONTS

Now, know that the fonts you are about to choose are as important as your color palette!

Because, same as the colors, you will use those fonts for EVERYTHING.

The goal here is to choose two fonts that will complete each other.

Your brand designer can help with that.

However, you can start looking on your side what kind of font style you want to go for.

There are so many different kinds of font you can look at, and this can be a little bit overwhelming.

I invite you to go to websites like Dafont.com or Google font and look at the different styles.

4- TAGLINE – BRAND MESSAGE

Here comes the most difficult part.

So, you will need to figure out your tagline.

A tagline will put you in a little box and will help people understand what you do.

For example, my brand is Justine Lamer! That’s my name, easy.

However, my tagline is Digital Marketing.

It says it all! Now, that’s your turn. Who are you? What do you do?

Then, once the tagline is set up, figure out what’s your brand message!

Basically, answer this question: Who do you help and how?

HOW TO BRING YOUR ONLINE BUSINESS IDEA TO LIFE

Yes, it is time for you to start your biz, and I am about to help you by sharing how to bring your online business idea to life.

So, you are here because you have been thinking of opening an online shop, starting your online consulting business, and or something else that requires you to seek information.

Your head is probably full of questions like: Should I do it? How do I start? Is it a good business idea anyway?

I am here to answer some of your interrogations and guide you into the first steps to bring your online business idea to life.

Let us dive right into it:

1- IS YOUR PRODUCT/SERVICE LEGIT?

So, my first tip is: Are you sure about your product or service?

You need to make sure that your business idea is legit and that you are going to launch a profitable business.

So, if you are not sure about your idea. If you are not sure what you are going to sell to people out there? try to answer these questions:

– What is my knowledge?

– What can I teach to people?

– What can I provide to my target, to my future clients?

So, for example, if you are very good at using social media, maybe you can help other people with their social media!

If you are very good at making Necklaces, maybe it is time to sell some Necklaces.

So, the point is, you need to figure out what are you going to do exactly? Who are you going to help?

The Important thing is to focus on one thing at a time, to bring this idea to life. You have to center your energy around these questions to start a successful online business.

2- WHAT IS YOUR ONLINE BUSINESS STATUS?

So, you need to figure out the status of your business!

How do you want to be seen out there as a business?

Do you want to be a sole proprietor? Meaning that your company is you.

There will be no distinction between you and your company. You are the company.

So, if something happens to your company, it also happens to you, personally.

That is how I started my business. I started as a Sole-Proprietor.

But you can also start as an LLC which is a Limited Liability company.

As an LLC, you are not liable for your business debt.

If you start as an LLC, you and your business are two different entities.

I advise you to do your research and choose what is best for you and your business.

3- WHAT ARE THE LEGAL REQUIREMENTS IN YOUR STATE?

So, you will have requirements to open your online business.

Legally, what do you have to do to get your online business idea going?

Now, look at any permit, license, tax, and fees you need to get in your state.

In the state of Florida, I did not need to do anything to get my business going as a Sole-Proprietor.

However, as an LLC, you need to register to the state!

4- WHAT PLATFORM ARE YOU GOING TO USE TO SELL YOUR PRODUCT/SERVICES?

Before bringing your business idea to life, you will need to think of where you want to sell your product or service?

So, if you sell a product, you will think of what kind of platform you are going to use, like Etsy, Shopify, or maybe your website.

If you are a service provider, what are you going to do? Are you going to make a landing page?

Are you going to only talk about it on social media?

Or are you going to build an entire website?

I filmed a video on how to start your website from scratch. In case you needed some help with that as well.

Now, you found your “what” and “why”, as well as your “how” and your “where”!

5- MAKE A BUSINESS PLAN

Now, you need to have a big serious business plan!

While making your business plan, ask yourself: what’s going to happen before it happens?

You know exactly what you are going to sell and to who!

And you found out where you are going to sell it. You are aware of your “how” because of all the legal things you had to do to bring this business idea to life.

So, you are ready to go!

Now, let’s answer some more questions like:

– What do you need exactly to sell your product?

– What material do you need?

– What is going to be the expense?

– What is the price of your services/products?

– Why are people going to choose you instead of others?

– What kind of value are you going to bring?

Do you understand what I mean? That is your final touch!

So, make a plan and know what is going to be your marketing strategy.

You have to start looking at what social media platform is the best for you and your business.

6- GET STARTED

YES, get started, just do it! Even if, it’s not perfect, your website is halfway done, and this is not the design you wanted for your brand.

Simply, start, you have to do it now, and don’t be scared to talk about it on social media!

No one cares about the looks, and no one knows if you are completely ready or not.

So, you know what we said: fake it before you make it!

You are probably thinking, “OMG” that’s the first time I am reading an article that says productivity and phone in the same sentence.

So, yes listen up, my work from home friends, IT IS POSSIBLE to be productive working from home while using your phone.

Here is my work from home productivity tips using your phone.

Let’s go.

1- USE A TIMER

Here is how:

The first tip I can give you is this: USE THE TIMER on your phone!!

Break down your day and set up a timer for each task you need to accomplish.

For example, say you want to focus on writing a blog post and you need to do it fast.

Then, take your phone and set up a 30-minute timer.

During this time, you will only focus on writing.

Once your timer goes on, set another one for a 15-minute break and keep on going like this until you are done with your to-do list.

2- DOWNLOAD PRODUCTIVITY APPS

Here is how:

The best tip I am sharing today is this one: don’t underestimate the power of apps.

There are so many productivity apps out there you can download for free to get things done quickly working from home using your phone.

Let me share a couple of them:

Trello: Organization tool! Be productive by organizing each day, writing ideas, and managing your time.

To-Do ist: Write a to-do list on your phone with reminders, notes, images, labels, and more.

Flora: Habit tracker. This app will help you focus on the task you need to achieve.

3- USE THE DO NOT DISTURB OPTION

Here is how:

Did you know you had a “do not disturb” option on your phone?

USE IT! If you are always bothered by notifications and especially if you get distracted by them. This option is awesome.

I am using do not disturb every time I need to deep focus on one task.

Usually, I do the “do not disturb” option for an hour while filming a video or writing a blog post.

That helps me keep focus and not looking at my phone or other windows open on my computer.

So, try it for yourself.

4- SET UP YOUR PHONE CALENDAR FOR SUCCESS

Here is how:

There are multiple calendars you can use to get your work from home life easier and be productive throughout the day.

So, use the calendar by default on your phone or google calendar.

Here is what you are going to do. Take your phone, open the calendar of your choice, and start making “sections”

By breaking down your day, by task, your productivity will SkyRock.

Let say that day you need to film a video, make a product, and answer emails.

So, in your calendar, you are going to block 9 to 11 am to film as many videos as you can.

Then, block 1 to 3 pm to think of your product and block 30 minutes to answer some emails.

Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy!

It’s a great way to stay organized and productive!

Congratulations, you are in the right place, to learn everything you need to know about the wonderful App called: Over.

So, what is Over? Over is a Graphic Design Maker App that can be used on your phone, iPad, and Desktop. It will help you make wonderful and “look complicated” graphic design for your business, social media, & more.

In this blog post, we are going to focus on “Mask”. What is Mask, and how to use it?

Let’s dive right into it:

1- WHAT MASK MEANS?

So, let’s talk about Graphic Design! And Let’s talk about “Mask”

Disclaimer: I am using Over “pro” and pay $99.99/year.

In the free version of Over, “Mask” is available. So, don’t worry.

My definition of “Mask” will be: It’s an eraser.

So, basically, it “Mask” the part that you don’t want to see in an image or a picture.

Here is the definition of “Mask” from Over: Hide areas from a layer, revealing the image underneath. Great for hiding pesky background, items, or making text stand out!

2- WHERE TO FIND "MASK" IN OVER

From a picture:

So, once you opened the app and selected your picture.

You need to click on the picture and select “edit”

Now, you are in editing mode for this layer.

So, scroll on the bottom of your screen to find “Mask”

You will find it in between “Nudge” and “Blend”

3- HOW TO USE MASK IN THE OVER APP

Here is how:

So, once you have selected MASK, you will see 4 different circles.

The circle that is full will erase the picture with a sharp edge!

The circle that is blurry will erase (mask) with a smooth edge.

So, those circles, are the erasing circles.

Now, the two other circles that are not “filled” are made to “restore/unmask”.

The blurry one will unmask with a smooth edge, and the other one will restore with a sharp edge.

4- EXTRA TIP ON HOW TO USE MASK

So, to make those circle “smaller” and be able to erase some details, you will need to zoom into your picture.

If you are an online Graphic Designer, and sometimes use Canva for your design, you will find this article useful!

Especially, if you are using Canva for FREE!

So, here are the best free elements to use in Canva.

Let’s go.

FREE ELEMENT FILTER

So, the first thing you will need to do is to make sure you are using the “free” elements in Canva. So, you will have to activate the filter.

To do so, go into elements, and click on the adjustments close to the search bar.

Then, you will see availability Free or Pro.

So, select FREE.

1- ABSTRACT SHAPE

My number one favorite free elements are abstract shapes.

You can use those elements for so many designs.

So, add those abstract shapes behind texts or to the corners of your designs.

2- FRAME

The frames are probably the most useful free elements in Canva!

So, you will add your frame to your design and then add whatever image to that frame! SO EASY!

If you are looking for a frame, in particular, you can search for frame + the word, like Frame phone or frame laptop.

3- WATERCOLOR LINE

So, those lines are the prettiest.

I am using those lines a lot to create YouTube Thumbnails and/or other Instagram posts.

Super colorful and joyful.

4- HANDDRAWN

So, designs that look like they’ve been hand-made are so much more “attractive”. This is why I always try to add some kind of hand-drawn elements to my designs.

5- TYPOGRAPHY

So, you don’t know how to draw or do calligraphy? NO problem! Use those Typography elements in your designs.

6- PNG IN PHOTOS

Here is the BEST trick.

Instead of going to elements, go into photos and search for “PNG” or “CUT OUT.

You will have access to so many “real” images for your designs.

7- TEXTURE

So, those free elements are perfect to add some dimensions to your designs.

You can add texture and use the blending tool!

8- SKETCH

The last best free element to use in Canva is SKETCH.

Those elements are super aesthetic and simple.

So, it’s really easy to add to any kind of design.

I am so excited to share the 7 Amazon must have for your home office.

If you work from home, you want to know about all the accessories and must-haves from Amazon for your home office!

So, let’s make some practical and useful purchases.

DESK WITH HUTCH

So, let’s start with the obvious thing you need from Amazon in your Home Office.

A desk! Yes, but a desk with a Hutch. This Desk is the biggest desk I have ever own, and I love it.

It is big, has lots of drawers and spaces. I love that this is a corner desk and it has USB ports on the top of it.

This desk comes in multiple colors.

LAPTOP STAND

So, I just bought this laptop stand for Black Friday and it changed my way of working on my computer.

I can stand up and work like that (because of perfect height), but I also have a better posture when sitting on my office chair.

I don’t know about you, but working from home for me is involving a lot of screen time.
