I won’t go over the questions: Do I need to create a logo If I only use Instagram? Or do I need a logo if I have a small community? The answer will always be YES!
Whatever you do or no matter how big is your following.

Branding yourself with a logo is a good start.
There are tons of cheap options out there, where someone can make your logo. But, creating your logo yourself is free and fun.
Today, I am going to show how to make a logo for free and the easy way to create your own.

RESEARCH: What design do you want for your logo?

The first step of how to make a logo for free will be to find out, how you want your logo to look like. You will have to ask yourself some questions:
What is going to be the shape? The colors? The text and fonts? Will you use graphics or keep it simple?
Answer those questions and let’s get started.

SHAPES:

Choose a shape that will match best with you and your brand.

Round, square, triangle, stars, clouds, etc. You have options!
If you want to keep it simple, I would go for a round or a square shape.

DESIGN:

Now that you found your shape, you need to think of a graphic or imagery to customize your logo. Something that will be a reminder of what’s your brand or mission about.
For example: If you are a hairstylist you can use a scissor. If you are a Disney influencer you can add Minnie ears.

TEXT AND FONTS:

Find out what do you want to write on your logo. It can be your name, the name of your shop, a nickname or a username. You can also add a slogan or only use your initial.
Then, you will have to find out what font you want to use. Take the time to look for it. You will need to stay stick to it.
If you want to use two different fonts, choose a basic one and a “funky” one. Two special fonts will look “too much”.

COLORS

My best tip of the day: 3 colors ONLY! Unless your brand is about rainbows.
Otherwise, having 3 different colors will be enough for a small logo.
Try to find colors that match best with the content you are sharing.

CREATION: Bring your logo to life

Once you’ve made your research and know what you are going for, you can start making your logo.
To create your logo, you will need a computer software or an application on your phone.
(Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Pic Monkey, Over, etc) My favorite Design App: OVER.
With OVER APP I can design logos, flyers, cards and more.

DRAW ON PAPER FIRST

It does not matter if you are bad at drawing (I am pretty terrible myself).
Draw a quick scratch of the logo you see in your mind.
It will help you have a quick idea of how is it going to look like before figuring it out on your design software.

HOW TO MAKE A LOGO FOR FREE WITH OVER APP

To show you an example of how to create your logo, I am going to use the Over App.
You can follow along with this process on whatever app or software you are using.
Open your app and let’s get into it:
First, you will have to select your logo’s size. I always go with 2048x2048px (that’s easier)

Since you’ve already done all your research and know what you are doing. You only have to add your shape and find your graphic.

Now write your text and change the font.

Looks Good!
This is time for your colors to show up, change the color of your background shape, and your texts.

AND DONE! YOU DID IT! You created a logo all by yourself!
Don’t forget to save your work in PNG to get a transparent background.

Now, start adding your logo to all your content to brand your pictures.
