HOW TO DESIGN A CHANNEL ART FOR YOUTUBE
I am writing this blog post because I wanted to help you figure out how to design a Channel Art for YouTube.
When I started my YouTube Channel, I had no idea what to do about my YouTube Banner.
I tried many times to create one that would fit perfectly on a computer but also a phone. Without success!
Often, I got tired by the design I made, and I always wanted to update or change my Channel Art.
If I had known the basics from the beginning, It would have saves me some time!
Are you ready to know how to design a Channel Art for YouTube?
Then, follow those easy steps.

CHANNEL ART SIZE CHART
To design a Channel Art for your YouTube channel. You will have to follow the size chart.
You can have access to this chart, at any time, on YouTube Studio.
Yet, to make it quick and simple, I will drop the image right here!


Download it to your YouTube folder, because you are about to use it.
As you can see in the image, a Channel Art is 2560×1440, but the important part is the text and logo safe area.
So, you will have to make sure to write important information about your YouTube Channel in this zone. 1546×423!
Now that you know the dimensions and the safe area, it’s time to design.
DESIGN YOUR CHANNEL ART WITH OVER APP
The Over App is the best place to design your YouTube Banner.
Download the app for free on your phone or your iPad.
Don’t worry, you can use the app for free! But free means limited. You won’t have access to all the features.
Now you should be ready! You got the app and the right size.
So, let’s get started.

THE BACKGROUND
What is the vibe you are looking for? Is It colorful? Or is it simple?
Make your decision and open the Over App.
Tap the + button and select a transparent background.

Then, swipe to the left to find the Channel Cover size: 2560×1440.

Once it’s selected, add the background you decided to go for.
To add an image, tap on “Image” in the bottom left corner.
Now, select your background.

Resize the Image to cover the transparency.


For this example, I decided to go with a simple white background.


DESIGN YOUR SAFE AREA
Time to design your safe area.
Remember that the size is different. You will have to create another transparent design and add it to your background later.
Stay on your background page but in the top middle, you will see a card with the number one.

Tap on it! Then tap the + the button. You will get a new page with a transparent background. Don’t forget to resize it!

So, tap on the size and change it to 1546×423.

BE CREATIVE
Keep the transparent background. We are going to add this part to your previous design. (The Channel Art background).
In this safe area, you will need to get creative.
Choose a pretty Font and add the name of your channel.

You can also add what your channel is about and how many times a week your post your videos.


It’s nice to add some images. You can add your logo or some pictures.

To design an amazing Channel Art, you will need to use some graphics.
Here are some examples:


ADD YOUR SAFE AREA TO YOUR BACKGROUND
I can tell you already did an amazing job following my instructions.
Now that your safe zone is ready, save it to your library photo.
Now, go back to the background you designed in the first place.
In the bottom left corner, tap on “image”. Select the safe zone that you saved.


Make sure the safe area is centered and DONE.

It’s up to you now, to add whatever you want around it!
Know that the designs you are going to put out of the safe area. It will not appear when people check out your YouTube channel on their phones.
Download your Channel Art on your computer and upload it to your YouTube Channel.
