LIGHTROOM MOBILE TUTORIAL FOR BEGINNERS

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is my favorite photo editing tool.
As you might know or not, there is a ton of other options out there. But, Lightroom for mobile is free to download and to use on IOS and Android.
However, if you want to have access to more features like “selective” or “healing”. You will have to get a monthly subscription (about $5/month).
So, without further a due, let me share the things I would have love to know when I started on Lightroom mobile.

LIGHT
You should know by now that no matter how good is your camera if the lighting is low, your photos will look low as well.
This is why playing with the “LIGHT” section in Lightroom mobile is a very important step.
So, in Light, you are going to find: exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, and blacks.
Go to your library and upload the darkest picture you have into Lightroom mobile.
Now, start messing around with the light! Try high exposure and shadow with low contrast and highlights. This is where the magic begins.

COLOR
We are getting into my favorite part of the Lightroom mobile tutorial for beginners.
Finding out what to do with the colors!
If you ever wondered how to make your color look different and vibrant or how to make your photo look warm or cold? Now is the time to read!
In the color section, you will find Temp, Tint, Vibrance, and Saturation.
But this is not it!
Above Temp, in the top right corner, you will find a color circle called Mix. This is where we are going to start.
For each color, you can change the HUE meaning the color or shade. The saturation meaning the intensity of the color. And finally, the Luminance meaning the intensity of light.
With that being said, now it’s time to edit a pic.
So, transfer the most colorful picture you have into Lightroom. Look at how your picture can change when using different variations of color.

EFFECTS
Your editing process could stop here. But let’s get deeper into the Lightroom mobile app, and take a closer look at the effects section.
Let’s talk about:
Texture: the visual quality
Clarity: A part of contrast that can sharpen your image

Dehaze: add or remove atmospheric haze from a photo
Vignette: Darkening effect of the edges
Grain: tiny flecks throughout your photo
Now that you know everything about those effects. Try them on your photos. Look at what matches best with your liking!
BONUS
If you are like me and want your photos to look sharp. Go in the detail section in Lightroom mobile and use “sharpening”.
