WHAT I DO BEFORE PUBLISHING A YOUTUBE VIDEO
You are here because you want to know what I do before publishing a YouTube video. Having a YouTube channel and staying consistent with your videos is a full-time job.
So, it is important to know what you should do before publishing your videos!
Alright, take your notebook and your pen because I am about to reveal what I do before publishing a video on my YouTube Channel.
1- BE AND STAY ORGANIZED BEFORE PUBLISHING A YOUTUBE VIDEO
So, before publishing a YouTube video, I take time to organize myself using the organization tool Trello.

If you don’t know what is Trello? You can read my last blog post called how to use Trello.
So, in my organization tool, I’m making lists of things to do before publishing and after publishing.

Inside this checklist, I write everything from finding a good title to my future video to create an Instagram post to promote after publishing.

2- TITLE AND KEYWORD SEARCH

Did you know that the most important part of your video is the title and the keywords you are about to use to rank on YouTube search?
So, to double my chances of getting views. I am using the keyword Explorer provided by TUBEBUDDY.

3- A PRETTY THUMBNAIL
Yes, thumbnails needs to be pretty.
Think of your behavior when you are going to YouTube to look for something.
Did you notice that you always click on the thumbnail that looks good?
So, make sure your thumbnail is light, airy, colorful, and PRETTY!

4- DESCRIPTION AND TAGS
Description
I always write a description below my videos.
So, I would start by repeating the title and give more details about what people are about to learn watching my video.
Then, I will link every product or service I mentioned in the video.
You can also add your social media platforms, website, or links to other relevant videos.
Tags
Once I wrote my description, I will add some tags.
Tubebuddy helps me find the most relevant ones.
But first, I will make my title be a tag as well as the keywords I’m targeting.
5- CARDS AND END SCREEN
Cards
What’s a card in a YouTube Video: Cards are interactive elements added to YouTube videos that can be used to promote videos, playlists, websites, merchandise, or channels.
I usually add 2 relevant videos and a playlist!
End Screen
What’s an end screen? An End Screen (also referred to as an “End Card” or “Endslate”) is a YouTube feature that appears in the last 5-20 seconds of a video. YouTubers can use their end screen to promote videos, playlists, merchandise, and external websites.
In my end screen, I like to add three relevant videos, to guide people into watching one of my other videos, and a subscribe button.
6- SUBTITLES
So, I started adding English subtitles to my videos (even so my videos are in English) for two reasons.
Reason number one
Not everyone can hear! So, I love the idea of my videos being enjoyable to everyone.
Reason number two
I’ve seen myself watching videos on YouTube recommended pages because people added subtitles into their Intro.
So, I believe subtitles can help people click on my video preview, if they like what they start reading.
