My morning routine looks like this: I woke up at 5:30, get ready for my homework out at 6 am. I usually work out for about, 30 to 45 minutes. Then I shower and get dressed.

Around 7:30/8 am, I eat my breakfast, and by 8:30 am I am ready to kill my workday!!
I have the same routine Monday to Friday, and I try to stay close to it during the weekend.

The secret of my early morning routine is my early night routine.
Makes sense, right? You can’t expect to wake up at 5:30 am and stay productive working remotely when going to bed at midnight.

You can do this!

DON’T USE YOUR PHONE BEFORE BREAKFAST

You just woke up, and don’t want to stress yourself with emails, text, and more.

Take the time in the morning to wake up, drink a glass of water, do your work out.

While sipping your coffee and making your toast, turn on your phone and start scrolling!

SET UP YOUR GOALS FOR THE DAY

It’s time to take your planner or your notebook and start listing things you need to do during the day.

I recommend, always start with the very important tasks and the one that you don’t want to do, FIRST.

Once you took care of those tasks, you are going to feel accomplished and will be motivated to keep ongoing.

TAKE 2 TO 3 BREAKS DURING THE DAY

Is it possible to stay positive while working remotely without taking a couple of breaks?

Your body needs to move! So, take those quick breaks and let your brain breathe and stretch your legs.
Here is how you do it:

1- MORNING BREAK

Set up an alarm at 10:30 am and take your first break.

In the morning a 10 to 15 minutes break is enough.

So, go make yourself a cup of coffee or tea, sit outside or walk around the house, and then go back to work!

2- LUNCH BREAK

Go away from your home office! Do not eat at your DESK.

The best way to stay productive, while working remotely is to know when to leave your workspace.

Going away from your desk to eat your lunch is a MUST!

Thus, take an hour’s break for lunch, call a friend, and let your brain cool down.

3- AFTERNOON BREAK

Now, it’s time to set up your afternoon alarm around 3 pm.

You need to stretch those legs once more.

So, go on a 30 minutes’ walk.

Go get your mail or walk your dog in the neighborhood!

Afterward, you can go back sit down, and finishing up your work.

SWITCH WORKSPACE – MOVE AROUND YOUR HOUSE!

Working in different areas of your house will help stay focus.

Staying in the same place for a long period of time can drive you insane.

There are three spots in my house, where I love to work:

1- LIVING ROOM

This is my morning spot. I get my cup of coffee and go on the couch with my phone, and my computer.

I start organizing my day, answering some of my emails, until my 10 am break.

Then, I would switch places.

2- OFFICE

I have the chance to have a home office that I love working in.

So, right after my morning break, I always go back to my office and start working on my important tasks.

3- KITCHEN OR BACKPORCH

After your afternoon break, take your work in your kitchen or outside and finish up your day there.

Being away from your normal workspace before kicking off your day, will help you stay focus until the end.

BE SMART ON WHEN TO USE YOUR PHONE

People out there will tell you to not use or turn off your phone.

But, when your work is about social media like me, it’s kind of hard to not be on your phone. You need to be SMART about, how and when using your phone while working remotely.

If you need to be on your phone for some reason during your work hours, then, set up a 20 minutes timer every two hours or so. That way, you will have a limit, and won’t get lost on Instagram, scrolling without looking on your feed for an hour!

MAKE LISTS TO STAY PRODUCTIVE WHILE WORKING REMOTELY

My last tip for you is to make LISTS.

You do not want to think about work after the day is over.

So, before closing your computer and turning off the lights. You need to write down the things that you need to do the next day.

You can also open your notebook, and start making lists of everything that’s going on in your mind.

It can be, grocery list, random ideas for the house, for work, etc.

What I am trying to say here, is to try to empty your head from all the things that bother you or scared to forget. Make lists will help you get a night of better sleep. And if you feel rested you will be on the right path for productivity!
